 The IFRF provides black body furnaces for the calibration of ellipsoidal
and narrow angle radiometers (also available from the IFRF). All radiometers which are
supplied to customers are provided with calibration curves documenting the performance of
the equipment.
However, it is recommended
that the response of these instruments be verified periodically. Ambient dust or oil in
supply lines may contaminate the optical surfaces and degrade the performance of these
instruments.
The schematic of the calibration
furnace for temperatures up to 950șC is shown below. Versions are available which deliver
temperatures up to 1450șC.
