NH3
and HCN are important intermediates in the combustion of nitrogen
containing compounds present in fuels such as pulverized coal and heavy
fuel oil. The understanding of the evolution and reaction of these species
is paramount in the design of advanced combustion equipment capable of
providing low NO,, emissions. The IFRF has designed and tested a system
for the measurement of these species in semi-industrial scale flames.
The
IFRF supplies the sampling probe shown below for use in the determination
of NH, and HCN in conjunction or independently of the sampling system. The
IFRF supplies a special probe for the sampling of gases for the
determination of NH3 and HCN.
