TOTeMs - Topic Oriented Technical MeetingsTOTeMs are international technical meetings
organised by IFRF NET. As with Members Conferences, such meetings
are intended for Members only, although the IFRF and National Committees respectively have
the right to invite or propose special guests.
The objectives for TOTeMs
concerning a particular subject relating to combustion, are to determine the
"state-of-the-art" with respect to information and developments on that topic,
to determine the information requirements of industry, and thus by difference to determine
where research is required. These conclusions are relevant to both the IFRF Research
Station and the IFRF Members.
The state-of-the-art (information
requirements and availability) is determined through:
- a series of invited lectures from
internationally recognised experts in the field;
- input from the members through a
poster presentation session, and;
- a detailed discussion session
The Chairman draws the conclusions
of the session, which are then published within the Member-Only Domain, as part of the
continuing survey: Combustion Trends for the Future.
The invited presentation copies are
typically contained in TOTeM proceedings, which are made available to all participants, at
the TOTeM itself.
So far the language of TOTeMs has
always been English.
